The Bread Ordeal
In the business world, formal dinners come with the territory. As with most formal dinners, a full course meal is to be expected. Typically, the first thing to arrive is the aromatic smell of freshly baked bread. Then once it is placed on the table the temptation screams at you. But if you are dieting to maintain that healthy bro figure, do not let gluttony win the day.
The bread is usually white and highly-processed. In cases of multi-grain bread, it can be healthier, but can also be rich in calories. Difficult as it may be, try to limit yourself to no more than one piece. But perhaps your boss continues to invite you to have another scrumptious piece. To avoid being rude, accept that second piece and indulge, but avoid smothering your bread in butter. Instead, dip your bread in a little olive oil. If it just becomes too much for your senses to tolerate, order a house salad to tide you over. Again, avoid smothering that salad with ranch or other fattening dressings.
Remember, you are a bro and should always have a bag of tricks up your sleeve. If your boss or clients happen to be over zealous bread lovers, strike up an interesting piece of conversation and let them do the eating while you do the talking. Hopefully, by the time your server comes back around it will be time to order. Not only have you impressed your boss with your ability as an orator, you have mentally assuaged yourself of those heavy calories.
