Even though summer isn't over yet, it’s never too early to peek ahead at fall fashions. Be in the know early so you can prepare some killer looks that will serve you well everywhere from the boardroom to the bedroom this fall.
Here are the biggest trends currently taking the runways of the world by storm:
- Argyle is in – Major brands like Burberry Prorsum re-introduce sweaters to men’s style guides. Pairing sweaters or sweater vests with button-down shirts is a hot new look sweeping European shows. Though mixing patterns with patterns used to be a mistake, pairing vertical and horizontal patterns is all the rage.
- Ecofashion – The new buzzword in fashion trenches is “ecofashion.” As environmental champions call for reform, why shouldn’t fashion go green, too? Fashion powerhouses like Barneys and Loomstate teamed up with the Sundance Channel to promote recycling old t-shirts and ‘re-imagining’ them in a whole new way. The ecofashion movement involves eco-friendly fabrics and materials and re-using old items to create brand new, trendy looks.
- Layered look – Layered is in again as leaves change and temperatures plunge. Strong-patterned, masculine scarfs over thickly-knit jackets are a must, along with collared shirts and blazers.
- It’s All About the Industry – Calvin Klein’s Italo Zuchelli is broadcasting to the world that industrial is in with his latest collection. Futuristic zig-zag patterns, boxy trench coats, and factory-style zippers and buckles dominate the newest fall models.
