Entertainment Technology Center at Carnegie Mellon University

Are you an artist, a creator, a techie with an inexplicable craving to design? Hardcore gamer? Graphic novelist? If you said yes to any of the above questions, you might be a good candidate for the Entertainment Technology Center at Carnegie Mellon University.

Co-founder and pioneering virtual reality researcher (not to mention, all-around awesome Bro) Dr. Randy Pausch recently became famous for his widely-regarded “The Last Lecture,” sadly passing away in July at the age of 47. His advice on how to achieve your childhood dreams inspired a new generation of thinkers. Before he was a terminal cancer patient, however, he inspired students at Carnegie Mellon University to build virtual worlds and interact with technology in ways the world had never seen. Now with four international campuses, the ETC is an institution in entertainment tech. It’s a breeding ground for game designers, Disney Imagineers, engineers, theme park designers, robotics experts, and so many other creative professionals in all aspects of the industry.

One of the best parts of the ETC is that it’s for a diverse group of people with varying career goals and destinations. There is no required major or background for potential applicants. The admissions process is tough, but if you’ve got a real desire to work in the entertainment industry, this is a program for rising stars. Part of being a Brofessional means never selling out on your vision. See it realized at the ETC.
