How to Go Designer

So you scored a pair of the hottest pair of jeans, the ones that fly off the racks and possibly cost more than you’re willing to admit. You’re wearing your duds, and you think – no, you KNOW you look good. Just one minor check: is your label showing? We aren’t in the 90s anymore. Flaunting designer labels (a la Silver Tab or Guess) is practically prehistoric. Yet each year, smart, savvy business professionals undermine their killer sense of style by letting it all hang out. How can you avoid branding yourself an automatic tool? You don’t have to cut yourself off designer duds. Keep buying the jeans with the appropriate cut and look. But keep the label out of sight. Either wear a button-down or polo that covers the tag, or simply don’t buy the designs that feature prominent labels. Sometimes the best finds are the simplest – and the ones that don’t scream out a certain name, but let the style of the piece speak for itself.
