Inveterate Yourself

Establishing a disciplined routine can greatly assist you in your productivity. For some people five o'clock means five o'clock. Once that hour hits they are out the door, hit up happy hour, get home and slouch in front of the television. By all accounts this is their right, but it will certainly not help them climb up the corporate ladder.

Having a routine that is going to positively lead you into the next day is going to make that next day easier, and the next and so on. When you are new to the job it may take you a while to acclimate yourself to the hustle and bustle that is required of you and you might be out of sorts for a few weeks.

Make things easier for you one day at a time. Instead of watching that half hour show or staying for that extra beer, go home and prep yourself for what needs to be done the next day. The more you prep, the easier routines will become. Not only will they develop into a habit where you do them mostly without thinking, but you will be good at them. Therein lies the key to becoming more efficient and having people take notice.
