Summer 2009
Sure, summer 2009 is still many long, cold months away. But it’s never too early to start preparing your closet for summer trends. Casual wear will build up to a more refined, genteel look – think satins, silks, and ruches to wear on the pool deck or the beach. Leather and denim combos paired with 80s flair are also making their way onto the runway for the season, a throwback to the rock ‘n roll era. Boxy, cropped jackets paired with slim-cut pants will be a popular look, and the color of the season will be strong, assertive blues – cobalt and slate will be staples. Accessory-wise, hang on to your hats and jackets, and think about designer eye-wear. The artsy-geek-chic look is still a dominant fashion trend. Above all, think cool, crisp, and bold – it’s going to be a summer to remember.
